This Artwork & Intellectual Property Policy outlines the responsibilities of customers submitting artwork, logos, trademarks, graphics, designs, and other content for printing or production.

By submitting artwork or placing an order with Backstory Prints, you agree to this policy.

1. Ownership & Rights

Customers retain ownership of all artwork, trademarks, logos, and intellectual property submitted to Backstory Prints.

By uploading or submitting content, you confirm that:

  • You own the artwork or have proper authorization to use it
  • You have the legal right to reproduce, print, distribute, and sell the submitted content
  • Your submitted materials do not infringe on the rights of any third party

Backstory Prints does not claim ownership of customer artwork.

2. Limited License to Produce Orders

By submitting artwork, you grant Backstory Prints a limited, non-exclusive license to:

  • Process files
  • Create proofs or mockups
  • Print products
  • Fulfill orders
  • Provide production-related support

This license exists solely for the purpose of fulfilling your orders and operating our services.

3. Prohibited Content

Customers may not submit artwork or content that:

  • Infringes copyrights, trademarks, or intellectual property rights
  • Contains unlawful or illegal material
  • Promotes hate speech, violence, or discrimination
  • Includes explicit, offensive, or abusive material
  • Violates applicable local, state, federal, or international laws

Backstory Prints reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or remove any order or artwork at our sole discretion.

4. Trademark & Copyright Responsibility

Customers are fully responsible for ensuring they have the proper rights and permissions for submitted artwork.

This includes:

  • Brand logos
  • Company names
  • Licensed characters
  • Sports teams
  • Celebrity likenesses
  • Music or entertainment-related content
  • Copyrighted graphics or illustrations

Backstory Prints is not responsible for verifying ownership or licensing of submitted content.

5. Indemnification

Customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Backstory Prints, its owners, employees, affiliates, and partners from any claims, damages, liabilities, legal fees, or expenses arising from:

  • Copyright infringement
  • Trademark infringement
  • Unauthorized artwork usage
  • Violations of intellectual property laws
  • Customer-submitted content

Customers assume full legal responsibility for all uploaded files and submitted materials.

6. File Storage & Confidentiality

Uploaded artwork, customer files, and business materials are treated as confidential and are only used for:

  • Production
  • Fulfillment
  • Proofing
  • Operational support

Backstory Prints does not:

  • Sell customer artwork
  • Redistribute submitted files
  • Use customer designs for unrelated commercial purposes
  • Share proprietary materials with unauthorized parties

Reasonable measures are taken to protect customer files and business information.

7. Portfolio & Marketing Usage

Backstory Prints will not publicly display or promote customer artwork, products, or branded materials without permission unless:

  • The products are publicly available
  • Permission has been granted
  • The work was created internally by Backstory Prints

Customers may request in writing that their work remain entirely private.

8. Print Quality & File Requirements

Customers are responsible for submitting print-ready artwork.

Backstory Prints is not responsible for issues resulting from:

  • Low-resolution files
  • Incorrect dimensions
  • Transparency issues
  • Poor color profiles
  • Misspellings or design errors
  • Improper file setup

Customers are encouraged to review proofs carefully before approving production.

9. Copyright Complaints

If you believe your copyrighted work or intellectual property has been used improperly through our services, please contact us with:

  • Your contact information
  • Description of the copyrighted work
  • Proof of ownership
  • Details of the alleged infringement

We will review complaints and take appropriate action where necessary.

10. Right to Refuse Service

Backstory Prints reserves the right to refuse service, reject artwork, or cancel orders at any time for content that:

  • Violates this policy
  • Creates legal risk
  • Conflicts with our business standards
  • Is deemed inappropriate or unlawful

11. Policy Updates

Backstory Prints may update this Artwork & Intellectual Property Policy at any time.

Continued use of our services after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
